I have a unusual favor to ask...

Several months ago we were out buying the usual necessities for our two cats. And, as we often do, we browsed around the toy areas etc to look to see if there was anything new that was a must-have. Usually there isn't of course, but this one day there was a new kind of item, called the "Dream Curl", that serves as both a seat and scratching post for the cats. Our cats are not declawed, so we are always on the lookout for new ways to keep their claws engaged on anything other than our furniture (which honestly they're pretty good about as long as we give them plenty of scratching posts etc). The product is shown in the pictures linked below, which I found in a Google search (i.e. not our house and not our cats). I tried inserting a pic directly into the post but it didn't work.

At first our cats were leary of it, but as soon as they really checked it out they loved it. They sit there constantly (probably warmer than the hardwood floors in the area we keep it) and they use it diligently for scratching.

But it is rapidly wearing out and when we went to the store to buy another we were told they were out of stock and wouldn't be getting any more in, and no other stores in our area carry them. We found the manufacturer (called "Pet Links") online and called them, but they told us that it was a novelty item and that they never intended it to be regularly offered in stores.

Maybe it's a silly thing that we want this exact item, there are certainly many other types of scrathing posts and cat seats out there, but my guess is that a lot of the pet lovers out there will understand.

So anyway, the favor I'd like to ask is that the next time you go to your local pet store that you just take a quick look around for this thing. If you find one and don't mind going out of your way, please buy it and I will reimburse you and pay for shipping. I know that's a lot to ask, but I figured I would give it a shot.

I'll keep an eye out for you. I get to the pet store pretty often having two cats and a chinchilla as well.

Do you wear the chinchilla on cold days?

Actually, I saw one of these in my local Target, but I wasn't sure that's what you were looking for until I got home and looked it up.
