State Gas Temp map
Anyone doing any traveling, check out the gas temp map. I can use it to find the cheapest gas stops on my trips. Anything to keep toaster prices down for the common man. BTW, I'm in a yellow box |

Pale green (nanny-nanny boo-boo!)
Cool map, though. I make a lot of road trips, so this one's getting bookmarked... |

We're starting to have a heck of a time finding E0 (as opposed to E10) gas around here. My car doesn't like ethanol, plus the gas mileage goes down. I squeezed out 29 mpg my last tank of E0 gas. (Grand Marquis...and I commute 36.5 miles one way to work.) So now I have to pay the same price and get less.
Hubby called one station and asked if they carried racing gas. (No alcohol additives.) $5.59/gal. Bite the bullet and get that, I guess. Not for the car, but for the chain saws and other small engines. I guess even a little ethanol wreaks havoc with them. |

I have heard, but not yet had any confirmation that there are a few towns in NY that are now charging $5.09 for reg. Thats obscene.
What really burns me is the profits that these companies post. |

Seems to me if we allowed ourselves to use our own national resources, wouldn't supply would go up, and price would go down? Had a friend from the U.P. in town recently. She said they were at about $4.30 per gallon. |

Yes. And it would likely go down quite a bit since we would be much, much less dependent on imported oil. With the untapped oil that we know is available to us combined with the ability to convert coal to oil (which the EPA is preventing - god only knows why) we could tell the Saudi's to get bent within a few years. The environmental lobbyists and our brain-dead congress are the reason gas prices are so high. That and the fact that the great unwashed are so knee-jerkingly stupid about nuclear energy... |

Actually, the best thing to do is to do away from oil and fossil fuels and go with alternative energy sources. Gas and diesel aren't that efficient and they're dirty. Get the US the big chip in the motive power game once again and marginalize the whole Middle East, Venezuela, etc. If we could ever figure out a better way to dispose of nuclear waste, it would be awesome. As it is, it's still the cleanest, safest form of large-scale power production we have.

I paid $3.39 here yesterday. You guys could load up a tanker and make a few bucks by selling it for $3.00 a gallon. |

For weeks we were way above the national average until the last 10 days or so. We have seen prices go from $3.99 to $2.59 I paid this morning.

I loathe you. 2.29 here as well, but anywhere from 10 to 15 cents cheaper in a 60 mile radius and you know where to look. Same area has some places still selling gas for 2.59. |
