Our 12 year old Sony just blew out.... We are planning on getting a Westinghouse LCD... Does any of you have any comments on Westinghouse tv's? I was thinking of a 27 or 32 inch... and in the 600 to 700 price range.. I already have a 55" Sony SXRD 1080p in the basement and loving it...

We bought 4 of them for our offices. They seem to work fine but they aren't on all that much. The one in my office is a combo DVD player which doesn't always work right but the TV itself is good.

If your planning on doing laundry, it might be a good purchase but I see these things being sold in ALCO and Pamida stores which sell the cheapest crapiest electronics available. I'd steer clear.

I've looked at them in Best Buy. I know nothing about the techy side of things, but they always seem to have one of the nicest pictures for the size.

Have to be careful with in-store displays, though. Store employees purposely screw up the picture on TVs they aren't currently pushing... R MaN, here's a link to Newegg's Westinghouse LCDs. You can read customer reviews by clicking on the golden eggs beneath the TV's picture. I always go there for customer reviews before I buy anything electronic. Most people who bother to review items are very thorough there... Amazon.com is another good source of customer reviews... |

My brother-in-law sells TVs and appliances. He swears by Westinghouse appliances, but wil NOT recommend Westinghouse TVs. If I rembember correctly, his advice is Mitsubishi or Sony. He used to be against plasma, and wouldn't recommend them. Haven't discussed plasma with him lately, but I have heard the burn-in isn't the problem it used to be. He recommends DLP

I'm sure this falls into the "you get what you pay for" category but here is a 32" LCD TV for $375. Looks like they have three left. I'm probably going to buy something for the bedroom this fall/winter but if I were ready to buy now I might have to consider this one for the price. Ground shipping to TN is about $30 so they don't rape you too bad on that.

So, you and Mrs PH have given up sex in the bedroom? That's a good price. I had my brother-in-law last year when I was getting a TV for my bedroo. I had my eye on a Polaroid, and he said he didn't recommend t, but the price was good so he thought, for the price, I couldnt go worng for a bedroom TV. They have since come down (I think mine was $849 for a 32-inch). But, for the money, I am satisfied. However, I am prepared to spend more when it comes to the main TV |

RMan-
I like CNET for reviews on TV's. Here is a link...I selected 32"-42" based on the review rating, but you can select based on price, etc... CNET - 32"-42" For your price range, the Sammy looks pretty nice !!! Out of curiosity, why LCD ?? |
