Anyone picking up this piece of crap? I'm sure it will suck again just like it has the last 4 seasons or so. Ever since EA got NFL exclusive rights the quality of the game has gone downhill. No competition will do that. In the end I'll be a sucker again and buy it. Hopefully there will actually be some improvements, but I will not hold my breath.

Oh yeah, I had read that. I can't imagine I will.
Anyone got it yet? I ordered mine through amazon due to no tax and a $10 amazon gift card but it probably won't get here for a week or so. Curious if anyone who has played it thinks it's any good. |

I just have a hard time getting into the Madden games. $60 every year to stay current, but not much improvement other then updating the names.
Last version I bought had Vick on the cover....2004 or 05. Can't remember. |

I've played a few games. It seems buggy. I've had it lock up on me a couple times, and the game has some really weird stuff going on. I can't tell you how many passes I've caught out of bounds that have counted as completions.
The computer is hard to stop too. I have to pass every down just to keep up with the offenses of the other teams. |

Same goes for the Tiger Wood series. 2004 was good. 2008 is crap. |

Yep. I have also found running to be ridiculously hard and I haven't been able to even get a big play (40+ yards) in any game I've played thus far. For the record I play on all-pro level with no slider adjustments. I guess it beats having the games where your RB always averages 7-8 yards a carry. My last game Ryan Grant had 25 carries for 33 yards. Rodgers was pretty good, around 70% completions with 2 TDs and an int. I play 8 minute quarters. My longest run in about 15 games played so far is only 29 yards. I've only played a few games online because I like to learn the game for awhile before diving into online. I have also had it lock up a few times. One game I even had my play calling screen disappear, but the playclock was still running and I had to waste a timeout. The last really good Madden was 2005 and coincidentally that was the last time 2k sports had the NFL license. |

off subject, but again on Tiger Woods, I have read people complaning about the AI where they enter a tournament and lead after two or three days by at least 7-8 strokes, then a some of the computer players shoot in the mid 50's to surpass the human player. EA games regress over the years. NHL94 was the best hockey game they put out IMO

I don't understand why they can't make a football game more realistic timewise by knocking 20 seconds or so off the playclock after a play to account for offensive huddles, or time in hurry up mode to account for players runningg back to the LOS |

That's another great feature that disappeared 3 or 4 versions ago. There used to be some sort of speed clock, I can't remember what it was called. Basically the play clock ran down fast from 40 seconds to about 10 or 15 and then started going down normally. It was great. It made it realistic if you had no huddle going, as if you were running no huddle the speed clock would not run. It also ran at a normal speed inside 2 minutes in each half.
Then one year it just disappeared. That's what I hate about playing the computer they pick a play immediately and the play clock rarely ever gets down past 25 seconds for them unless it's a team like the Colts that calls lots of audibles at the LOS. |

I totally agree. NHL 96 wasn't bad either. I heard this years version of the EA sports hockey game is going to include a retro version of NHL 94. That alone would be worth buying it. |

I haven't bought it but I've been playing the NCAA football 2009 (PS3) for about a month now and I think it's pretty decent.
