Here's the situation. My daughter is a freshman playing volleyball for Northeastern University in Boston. They've got a cool, new NU.tv webpage that will be televising home games I can't get to. They tried it out at an intrasquad scrimmage today, and it was cool, but I was watching it on my desktop with its 19 inch monitor. I have a wireless setup and a laptop and what I wanted to do was use that to pick up the video then patch it into my rear projection TV. It has RCA-jack input plugs in the front where my son usually hooks up his video game.

Any advice other than going to Radio Shack and seeing what those guys can do...

If it's a newer TV it may have a 15 pin (or DVI) video connection in the back already. Then it's just a matter of connecting the laptop and making sure the external video on the laptop is enabled. (we've done this with my brother in laws projection TV to play Battlefield Vietnam at monster size)
What type of laptop is it? What type of connectors are available? Does it have S-Video (as some do)?
Otherwise, you probably want to do a search on some sort of converter from the external 15 pin video of the laptop to the RCA connectors you referred to. Maybe something like this KworldPC To TV Converter or this (which has some decent reviews) Grandtec Ultimate 2000 PC-to-TV Converter.
Or, depending on your setup, try capturing the game and burning it to a DVD. You won't get to enjoy it live on the TV but maybe you want to keep those memories anyway. If it's streaming video you may need a utility to capture but I'm certain there are free ones available if you search the NET.
Post the outcome. I'd be curious.

Thanks Smedley. It's a year-old Dell. On the back, it has outlets that have symbols. There is a nine-pin green male plug outlet, and a blue 15-hole female outlet.Would those be relevant?

The 15 pin is a video out. That's standard for laptops. The other sounds like it's probably a PS2 for external keyboard/mouse.
What is the model of the laptop?
What connections does the projector TV have?
What model is it?

Dell is a Latitude D820

TV is a big screen rear projection Mitsubishi with the Three-colored RCA inputs in the front (two audio, one video) and an S-video jack in the front. Have an S video cable outlet in the back running up to the DVR. Mitsubishi TV has to be at least five years old...

Looks like you're going to have to drop some coinage for something like one of the adapters I mentioned earlier or, if you can, capture the video stream to your computer and transfer to DVD. A site like VideoHelp.com may be able to offer some assistance on option 2 in terms of identifying utilities and providing guides to do it.
Hope this helps.

Buy a Dell docking station. They have DVI and S-video on them. Then you can hook it up to your TV. They're about $150, give or take.
