My Ez Firewall is about to end. Do any of you know another site to offer a one year free trial? Or recommend a site to purchase a good Firewall? I guess free would be better but whatever.
Thanks in advance Badger

If you want free I have never had problems with zone alarm. If you want to spend money I would look at Symantec's firewall.

I like Kerio so far (on 30 day trial)

Just dumped Norton because it slows down the computer way too much.

Also tried McAfee's Security package because the ISP was offering a free download. Tried it, hated it. Almost as slow as Norton.

With Kerio the machine runs so much smoother. I also ditched Norton Anti-virus and now use Nod32.

The difference in speed is dramatic. Never will I recommend another Symantec product. Worst of all is that the crap won't uninstall cleanly either. NORTON SUCKS!!!

I use a router and have eliminated software firewalls a long time ago. No problems to date.

I also use a router for the firewall. I just got it because its hardware and not software. The question I have is, how do you know if the firewall is working?

there are a few sites that do free testing. Shields Up! is one of the most well known ones. It can be found on
