I added 2 RSS Feeds (ESPN/CNN) both for NFL related links into the LINKS of X4.
Just letting everyone know they are up. |

Hmm...what good are RSS links in that format?
Or are you just meaning to offer them for others to put in their news aggregators? Am I missing something? |

Correct! You can add those links into your News Aggregators. If you use a MAC and Safari, the page will show up looking like a forum sort of with links to easily click to the stories. Safari has a built-in news-reader |

OK gotcha! RSS is pretty cool stuff. I try not to let any of it get past me. Which isn't easy to do...because I just didn't get it at first. But now that I do ...its like. Wow! Way cool. |

Maggie. For absolute power surfing of feeds try Bloglines. http://www.bloglines.com/ You can scan hundreds of headlines in minutes, email articles, mark as read or save as new ect. If thats too hardcore try something else or consider setting up a My Yahoo page as your feed reader. I use My Yahoo as my start up page and I love it for a number of reasons. Mostly that I can access it from anywhere, securely, with all my bookmarks and stuff. The Rss feeds make it into a personal electronic newspaper that I can customize with local weather and headlines on any subject or blog. I'm not assuming that you don't know that...but then again its amazing how some people get locked into poor surfing choices. Hope that helps. |

Does adding the X4 RSS feed to our home Yahoo pages, etc. (significantly) increase bandwidth usage?

I have no idea Chuck. I'll be sure and let you know if it does though. We are growing, A LOT. I'm nearly certain I will need to "UP" the bandwidth plan by the time the regular season starts. I'm keeping a close eye on it this month. Yeah Groupee loves me right now. |

23 real simple steps to making your Internet life much better
OK, come along folks. It’s time to take your relationship with the Internet to the next level, and I’m here to tell you how to do it in 23 short, easy steps (see below) with as little jargon as possible. Those who already use “feed” technology should just move on along, as there’s nothing new for you here. The rest of you, who may have heard of “feeds” but been put off by those geeky letters people throw around when talking about it and felt confused about where and how to start, welcome. I was like you about a month ago. Then C. Max Magee, a former intern in our dot-com sweatshop, cajoled me into overcoming my reluctance, confusion and dread, and opening a free Bloglines account. I’m so satisfied with it that, today, I’m cajoling (and gently instructing) you: What is a "feed"? It’s a Web product that allows you easily to see (and read, if you wish) what’s new on the Web sites and Web logs you visit most often. Why can’t I just visit these sites myself, one by one? You can. This way is easier. Your Bloglines home page will tell you at a glance when there’s nothing new to you on a site. It’s a very systematic way of keeping up and keeping track. Is Bloglines the only such service or the best such service? No and I don’t know. It works well for me and it’s free. How do I get started? Follow these 23 simple steps: [more] http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2...23_real_simple_.html |
