I am cleaning up an office I am working at now. I found to very old computers. One is an IMB Personal XT (pic from the net below) the other is a Magitronic 286-16. Does anyone here know if they are worth anything? I don't want to throw them away as I figure they are worth something to a comp geek, though I could be wrong. I have some, if not all, of the old 5" floppy's with them too. I'm realy not looking for anything for them. Anyone?

Probably worth nothing but don't throw them away. Very bad for the environment. Find a place that recycles junk electronics.

I definetly won't throw them away. I'm sure that I can find a place around that recycles computer stuff. I'm just looking to see if there's any interest.

If it was an old Commodore or one of the other "pre-PC" PC's, you could probably sell it on eBay. For an old XT, I doubt you would find anyone willing to pay for the shipping.

I have an old accordian that I used when I was a kid. It's probably nearing 45 years old. Do you think I can get anything on ebay? Or is it junk?

Sorry CC, didn't mean to jump your thread, but this was a good place to put a thought I had last night when I saw the thing in my garage.

Maybe NASA could use that monitor.

Maybe the German kid below could use the keyboard.

You could make a game station out of it and play some of the old games like DOOM. Stack it full of ram and load it with old DOS, then create a RAM drive and load Doom/Wolfenstein/Heretic etc. on the RAM drive for the kids.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else. Smiler

Cool, I figured people here would know if it had any value to somone. I'll find a recycler today. Crazy Kid needs to get outside a bit and spend some time away from the computer. flame

Electronics recycling is weird. Most likely it will end up in some third world country with people picking apart the pieces and melting down parts for just pennies.

DiscoveryTimes had a special on it. :|

Good lord, I hope that kid was acting. Cool

Q: How do you save videos like that as a file? I'd like to send it to a friend but if I send him the link his company blocks access to a lot of sites and he probably wouldn't be able to get to it.
