I was looking for an Ipod docking station that comes with a remote to use in my classroom this upcoming school year. Does anyone own any specific model they could recommend? I would also like it to have the speakers with the docking station rather than an attachment that plays through a receiver.

what class do you teach that allows the kids to listen to an ipod?

No, you misunderstood my purpose. I went to a teaching methods class this summer where the guy suggested running at low volume Bach and other classical music, says this puts the mind in a frame of mind to learn. He used an ipod and a docking station during our class to demonstrate it and I thought it might be useful. I also have them write in response to things like "Wear Sunscreen" as a journal entry, and would also use it for that...

I have a 20 gig Ipod, not a nano.

I use a JBL ONSTAGE model and it works great. Mine doesn't have a remote but there is one just like mine that includes a remote. It comes with plastic adapters to adjust for different types of Ipods.

This is the one I have:

Here is the model II with remote:

Mine sounds excellent. I'd assume the model II sounds similar.

I leave mine docked when I'm not using it so it's always charged up.
